The graph displays the mean monthly temperatures across a singular year in three major cities: Athens, Barcelona, and Sydney. The cities show similar trends with their average temperatures in correspondence to their respective seasons, with lower recorded temperatures in their winter season and higher values in their summer solstice.
At the start of the year, in January, Barcelona and Athens resume their winter solstice with temperatures of 5-10 degrees. In contrast, Sydney is at the peak of its summer, with its highest average temperature of the year, between 25-30 degrees.
Sydney still seems to have warmer winters than Athens or Barcelona, as it drops down to only just under 15 degrees in July. During this month, Athens and Barcelona are just about reaching their hottest values, reaching over 25 degrees.
However, both cities reach their highest temperature in August, with Barcelona even soaring to over 30 degrees.
At the end of the year, the temperatures flip again as Athens and Barcelona go back down to 5-10 degrees, and Sydney climbs back up to over 25. As Athens’ and Barcelona’s graphs have relatively the same shape, Sydney has the flipped version, due to its seasons being in the opposite months.
