Overall, it can be seen that the average attendance In England and Germany increased, while that of Italy deacreased. Further, at the start of the period the attendance level was the higest on Italy compared to the other two countries.
Looking at the data sets that increased it is clear that, both England and Germany showed a similar trend throughout the period. The number of people attending football matches decreased in both contries, from around 2,6000 and 25,000 in 1980, to approximately 23,000 and 18,000 in 1986. After that, they gradually increased to about 33,000 and 34,000 in 2004, respectively.
In contrast, an average of 35,000 attendees watched the soccer matches in 1980, in Italy. This number slightly increased to about 37,000, in 1986, before falling down to a figure of around 24,000 in 2004.
