The line graph illustrates the number of international students from Vietnam attending educational institutions in France, Russia, and the United States between 2000 and 2015.
It is evident that the number of Vietnamese students in France and America increased over the period shown, the opposite was true for Russia. Also, the number of those in Russia was the lowest over 15 years.
In the year 2000, there was an average of nearly 3.5 million Vietnamese people studying in France, in comparison with only around 1.5 million studying in America and 3 million in Russia. After 5 years, the number of Vietnamese international students in France declined to 2.5 million then remained stable at this level until 2010. Russia and America had a similar number of students from Vietnam with over 2 million in 2005. From 2005 onwards, the figure for America continued to go up to 3 million while that of Russia went down to reach a low of 1.5 million.
From 2010 to 2015, the number of students in France and the US increased dramatically. There was an increase of 2 million in students in America and France after 5 years. A slow rise of nearly 1 million was seen in the quantity of those in Russia during the last 5 years. Particularly, the United States with the lowest number of international students from Vietnam initially, became the most popular among the three countries at the end of the surveyed period.
