The line graph depicts information about the rate consumption of fish and three different meats (chicken, lamb, and beef) in an European country between 1979 and 2004.
It is clear from the graphic that chicken had the highest amount showing an upward trend, while beef and lamb plummeted over the period. For fish, the number decreased slightly and had the lowest amount of consumption among the other animal-based food.
The chicken’s consumption increased from 140 grams per person per week initially to around 240 grams in 2004, significantly higher than the amount of fish, beef, and lamb’s consumption. Meanwhile, beef which started with the biggest proportion about 220 grams fluctuated from 1979 to 1988, before depleting notably to 120 grams. The consumption of lamb also kept falling down from 150 grams to approximately 70 grams, as well as, fish decreased from 60 grams to under 50 grams, recording the smallest portion in 25 years.
Overall, chicken appears to be the biggest portion consumed by people compared to the other food.
