This bar chart illustrates the percentages of using different means of transportation which people used to go to and back from work in a particular city in Europe in 1960, 1980, and 2000.
Overall, it is clear from the graph that car is the only one that saw an increase, while the others witnessed a decrease in their figures, with an exception for bus which fell after a growth.
Focusing on car and bus, the former began at about 7% in 1960, and surged to 25 % in 1980 and around 37% in 2000. However, the latter’s trend was different. Although it started at about 13% more than car, this difference dropped to about 2% in 1980, and finally bus’s figure fell to about 17 % in 2000.
To talk about bike and foot, their figures were around 27% and 35% in 1960 respectively. Next, bike declined slightly to about 22% in 1980, while foot declined dramatically to around 17% in the same year. After that, both experienced another drop in 2000, bike collapsing to 7% and foot slipping to 10%.
