The column chart illustrates the amount of waste disposed using three different methods in a European country in the years 2005, 2006 and 2008.
It is clear that 2000 million tonnes of waste were filled in land in 2005 which was clearly higher than those amount in other two ways. In 2006, the amount declined instantly to 1600 million tonnes and it continually went down to 1200 million tonnes in 2008.
Conversely, the amount of waste dumped into sea was 1200 million tonnes in 2005 but it showed upward trend in the following years. The number gradually rose up to nearly 1500 million tonnes in 2006, and even, it reached over 1600 million tonnes in 2008.
On the other hand, the chart shows fluctuations in the amount of waste disposed by burning. It hit its maximum number, approximately 1200 million tonnes, in 2006, which was nearly 300 million more than its record in 2005. By 2008, it decreased back to under 900 million tonnes which was even lower than those in 2005.
In conclusion, landfill was the most used method of waste disposal compared to other methods in 2005 and 2006. However, the maximum amount of waste was dumped into sea in 2008.
