The line graph illustrates the average amount of Carbon dioxide produced by an average person and its figures in the next two decades.
Overall, it is evident that Italy and Portugal started off at low figures but increased over the years, while Sweden and UK which started off at significant figures declined over the years and projected to decline in 2030 and 2040.
Taking a look at the amount of CO2 produced by Portugal in 2000, it accounted for approximate 2 metric tonnes and along the years, there was a rapid increase which remained stead, and in 2030 and 2040, it is expected to level off at just below 6 metric tonnes. In contrast, Italy produced just above 4 metric tonnes and it witnessed a steady rise and in 2030, the average number of people will rise to just below 8 where it will even out to the same figure in 2040 just higher than Sweden and Portugal.
United Kingdom and Sweden stood at just above 10 metric tonnes and slightly higher than 8 metric tonnes. UK plateaud at this level and then gradually saw a steady decline. However, Sweden had a sharp increase to peak at just above 10 metric tonnes in 2010, followed by a rapid decrease. This pattern continued for both countries, and it is projected that in 2030 and 2040, UK will remain slightly higher than 8 metric tonnes per person while Sweden will produce 6 metric tonnes in 2030 and approximately 6 metric tonnes in 2040.
