Overall, the number of cars manufactured in almost all countries fell significantly over time, except for China. It is also worth mentioning that the highest figure was recorded in Japan in 2005.
Turning to the specifics, the number of cars produced in Japan was about 350 thousand, a figure that was higher than any other country in 2000. Meanwhile, there was also a 100,000 disparity in the rank of each country in terms of car manufacturing from 300 to 100 thousand, with the US being the dominant amoung them. By 2005, noticeable decreases were observed in the number of automobiles that were manufactured in the US and UK, with about 200,000. However, the remaining Asian countries, namely Japan and China, saw an upward trend: the former reached a peak of approximiately 380 thousand, while the latter saw a gradual increase of over 100,000.
In 2010, three countries, including Japan, a leading figure, the UK and China decreased significantly regarding car production: the first saw a decline of 300,000, while the others went down to roughly 100 thousand. By the finaly year, the number of cars produced in China grew gradually, taking over that of other countries with about 150,000. As for the other remaining coutries, dramatic decreases were the cases. The figure for Japan fell to 100,000, becoming the second in this category, and the number of automobiles manufactured in the UK and China reached a low of about 40 thousand.
