The line graph illustrates the number of foreign tourists visiting three distinct places in a European country from 1987 to 2007. It shows that coastal areas were preferred by most of them, while the visitors to mountains and lakes fluctuated.
In 1987, approximately 8,000 and 20,000 people visited the lakes and mountains respectively. However, more than 40,000 tourists were at the coastal areas. Only within a decade, the popularity of the coast grew significantly, and the number of visitors doubled in that year. By the end of 2007, the tourist count reached about a million.
Although, mountains and lakes were becoming popular among tourists, it did not grow as fast as the coastal areas. Even though there were more people going to the lakes at the beginning, it reached a point (in 1994) where it turned around and gradually became the less popular option among the visitors.
