The diagram depicts the number of closed shops and opened shops which are opened in a country from 2011 to 2018. Overall, both of the shops moved with the downward trends.
First of all, the number of closures experienced fluctuations slightly across the period. It stood at 6200 and there were waves at 6300 between 2011 and 2014. Following this, the closed shops saw a sudden slump to 800 in 2015, afterwards, it jumped dramatically to over 5000 for a year. Next, the number dipped to above 5000 in 2018.
On the other hand, opened shops witnessed a significant downward movement of the given period, starting at 8300 before reducing to 4000 in 2012. Thereafter, it climbed steadily by 6000 in 2014 before going down to 4000 in 2015. Subsequently, the number of opened shops levelled off one year and then it grew marginally, after which, there was a drop to 3000 in 2018.
To summarize, the opened shops became less famous trend comparing to the rate of closed shop.
