The line chart illustrates how many crimes in three categories in a city of the US between 1980 and 2000.
There was an increase in the number of car thefts, while the opposite trend was observed in the figures for house burglary and those for street robbery fluctuated slightly. It is also clear that street robbery consistently had by far the lowest figures throughout the period.
The car theft numbers started at 350 incidents, after which it saw a significant decrease to exactly 250 incidents. A different change was seen in the figure for house burglary, which increased from just under 200 cases to just over 300 cases in the first 10 years. Similarly, 50 cases of street robbery happened in 1980, with a slight growth to 100 cases in 1990.
From 1990 to 2000, the number of people committing car theft rose, reaching 300 cases in 2000. Conversely, the number of house burglaries and street robberies dropped to approximately 270 and 60 incidents.
