Overall, the prices of most bread varieties witnessed an upward trend with the exception of Wholegrain bread. While Brown bread was generally the most expensive type, Rye consistently remained the lowest price.
Commencing with Brown bread, its price experienced a dramatic increase from approximately 0.6 dollars in 2001 to $1.5 in 2002, before peaking at around $1.6 in 2003. Although the figure then declined slightly by $0.2 in 2004, it recovered to the same peak by the end of the period. White bread displayed the same pattern in its figure, rising gradually from around $0.6 at the beginning of the period to nearly $1.3 at the end.
By stark contrast, Wholegrain bread exhibited the highest price at the beginning of the period. Its figure then rocketed and reached a peak of $1.8 in 2002 before undergoing a dramatic decline to approximately $0.8 by 2005. Meanwhile, Rye bread’s price, starting at $0.6, remained relatively unchanged until 2004, except for a small dip in 2002. It then showed a modest rise to end the timeframe at around $0.7.
