The provided graph illustrates the occupancy percentage for three hotels, Park Hotel, Lakeside Hotel and Hotel Lux for the months of June, July and August. Additionally, we are also provided a list of events that happened in these months which might have impacted the business for the given hotels.
The month of June was heavily affected by the train strike and hotels did very minimal business, however, July saw a sharp rise in business for all the three hotels with a high booking percentage because of the Arts festival. Although a good month, a fire broke out at the Lakeside hotel causing a sharp downfall in its booking for the next month. August was the month of regional sports championships which turned out to be great for Park Hotel and Hotel Lux.
Apart for the month of June, Hotel Lux saw a very high percentage of bookings with almost 85% in July and more than 75% in August which showed its popularity. In contrast, the other two hotels were constantly competing with one another with a very small difference between their bookings but the Lakeside hotel’s fire incident proved to be devastating for their business.
