The graph depicts the number of participants who have participated in the Olympics since it’s initiation in 1924.
Overall, the number of females accounted for the lowest number of participants if compared to the males in 1924 but a significant rise in number of womens is noticable after six decades, which resulted in the rise of total number of participant to be three times in the last olympics, if compared to the initiation year.
The trend shows that at the begining of Olympics womens were well below the 2000 mark, whereas mens started way above 2000 in the inital year. As the games proceeded to next instance of games which usually occurs after every 20 years, number of womens achieved consistent growth and touched the total number 2000 in the year 1984, while mens achieved a progressive increase and were at 6000 in the year 1984 which took the total number of participants to 8000.
After 4 itreation of Olympics games, womens were particpating high in numbers which saw a tremendous uprise between the year 1984 to 2004, approxiamately 6000 and were almost similar to the number of mens participated, slightly over 6000, which stats the fact that the frequency of mens participated during the same time period reduced graually. At the start of the tournament mens were contributing more with a bigger margin to the total number of participants but at the last tournament women participated almost similar to mens.
