Overall, the quantity consumed of low-fat milk increased significantly in 2015, as compared to 1970. The plot for whole milk experienced a clear decline, while the other increased dramatically, then remained constant in the following years.
In the year 1970, the amount of low-fat milk consumed was over 5 gallons. This value rose tremendously to just around 10 and 15 gallons in 1980 and 1990, respectively. Further, the figure was a little less than 15 gallons in the years 2000 and 2010. There was a negligible decrease in the value of low-fat milk consumption in 2015.
The whole milk consumption experienced a tremendous fall over the years. In 1970, around 25 gallons of this beverage were consumed. The consumption decreased over the given period and reached its minimum value which was just over 5 gallons in 2015.
