The line chart illustrates the amount of standard carbon dioxide heat for each individual in four different nations from 1967 to 2007.

Overall it is clear that the United Kingdom produces the highest amount of carbon emissions in this ranking. Besides, the figure of Portugal was the lowest in this trend.

In 1967, Portugal and Italy their emissions were much lower in this trend but it experienced an upward trend. The amount of CO2 in Portugal dramatically increased from 1 to 5 from 1967 to 2007. Following that, Italy started at 4.1 and rose to approximately 6.9 in 1997. However this number remained ten years until the period given.

By contrast, in the United Kingdom the rate was around 11 CO2, respectively. Over 34 years the figure for that was experiencing a downward trend, decreased to 9 in the last period. Finally, Sweden’s emissions started at 9 metric tonnes. After peaking at over 10 tonnes in 1977, the figure fell sharply to about 7 tonnes in 1987 and continued a downward trend to roughly 5.5 tonnes by 2007.
