This report will describe a line graph comparing the amount of different languages, which learned as the second language by the students in the elementary school of New Zealand during an eight-year period.

Overall, it can be can be clearly seen that French and Japanese were the most popular languages among learners in 2006, however all the patterns experienced some fluctuations till the last given year (2014).

In 2006, French was the most favorite among students, with approximately 30%, followed very close behind by Japanese. However, Japanese learners had a sharp decrease in amount, reaching just above 15% by 2014, while French figure witnessed slight fluctuations.

By stark contrast, German, Chinese and Others were at the bottom, with less than 15%. Both Chinese and Others figures increased in the following years, reaching about 15% and 10% in 2014, respectively. However, German learners average noticeably decreased to merely 9% in 2014, which was the lowest. Furthermore, Spanish learning amount reached to 23% after its peak in 2011,with nearly 27%.
