Overall, Wales led the field in both years showing a noticeable growth in proportion of part time jobs, trailed by England. In Scotland the former year ratio of part-time working was relatively lowest among all the nations while later year representing a significant rise. While in Northern Ireland the worst drawback was observed in almost both years.
In 1980, Wales topped the field, having almost 32% of part-time job holders representing a greatest percentage. England followed the same pattern with notable proportion of nearly 26%. In case of Northern Ireland percentage dramatically dropped down to 2 folds and reached closely to 16%. However, Scotland was on the lowest position experiencing a unique fall in their percentage that was about 10%.
By 2010, Wales remained on the peak of the list showing a consistent rise in percentage about to 3%. Similarly, England chased Wales and achieved their goal of part-time job offering to clients, their proportion reached close to Wales and that was 30%. Whereas this trend went down by 10% in Scotland, representing 20% of workers proportions. Northern Ireland lagged behind all countries showing a decrease of almost 7% from the previous nation.
