The line graph illustrates the proportion of individuals in various age groups that went to the cinema at least once per month in one particular country from 1978 to 2008. Overall, the most common number of moviegoers was between the ages of 14 and 24, while those aged 50 and over were at their lowest.
Audience shared in the 25 to 34 age group started at around 80% and was two times higher than the over-50-year-old audience in 1978. The former saw a significant decrease of 20% in 1988 before increasing again 10 years later. From 1988 to 2008, this age group remained almost unchanged and decreased to only about 78% at the end of this period. Similarly, the latter dropped to low of 30% to 1988 then it rose considerably and ended at 50%.
Conversely, the youngest group showed fluctuate over the next 30 years then gradually fell to 88% in 2008. About 60% of people aged 35 to 49 went to cinema at least once a month in 1978 before falling to its bottom around 50% in 1988. This figure grew substantially to 70% after 10 years.
