The line graph illustrates the proportion of people in four different age brackets who visit the cinema in a specific nation between 1978 and 2008.
Overall, it is clear that all four age groups showed a similar pattern throughout the period, except for the percentage of people who aged more than 50, which increased at the end of the period. Also, it is noticeable that the rate of visitors who are 35 to 45-year-olds people and those older than 50 became the same in 2008.
Looking at the graph more closely, one can see that the proportion of youngsters between 14 to 24- year-olds hit a low of about 75 per cent in 1988 before recovering to its initial rate in 1978 which was 90 per cent, and remained constant for 5 years and fell by 10 per cent at the end of the period. A similar pattern was seen in older people who are in the age bracket of 35 to 49, decreasing 10 per cent over the given period in question. Meanwhile, after dropping by 20% during the first 10 years, the percentage of visitors aged 25 to 34 rose slightly, which was just a 10 per cent rise and descended minimally, reaching roughly 65% in 2008. In contrast, for the elderly who are older than 50, even though there was a dip between 1978 and 1988, the rate went up moderately, and peaked at 50% in the last year of the period.
