The given graph illustrates the proportion of cinemagoers in a European country on different days over a four-year period from 2003 to 2007.
Overall, a higher percentage of people went to the cinema during the weekend, compared to the weekdays. Additionally, the highest proportion of people enjoyed going to the cinema on Saturday, whereas Monday was the least suitable day for watching a movie at the cinema. Furthermore, there were substantial variations in the distribution of viewers throughout the period given.
To begin with, the percentage of cinema attendance exhibited similar patterns during weekends. However, the percentage of Saturday was consistently higher than the percentage of Sunday, at starting almost two-fifths in 2003 and reaching a peak of just below 45% in 2005, before about 3% dropping to approximately 42% in 2007.
In terms of weekdays, astonishingly, the proportion of people who went to the cinema on Friday remained constant over the years, at exactly 30%. Monday was the only weekday with an upward trend among the others although viewers showed the least enthusiasm about watching a movie at the cinema, at 10% at the beginning and then it rose to around 12%, after peaking at just under 15%. With regard to the remaining percentages of weekdays, downward trends were recorded on three days over the years.
