The line chart compares the proportions of individuals in four different age groups who attended the cinema at least once a month in a European country from 2000 to 2011.
Overall, it is noticeable that the young adults from 15 to 24 led the top with the highest percentage of people going to the cinema frequently, while it was the lowest for those aged 35 and over.
In 2000, the percentage of people aged 15 to 24 going to the cinema was only about 15%; however, it rapidly rose to approximately 55% over 11 years despite some fluctuations during the period. In contrast, the figure for those aged 35 and above remained relatively low with a modest rise from 2% to almost 12%.
Besides, considering the remaining groups, at first those aged 7 to 14 showed a slightly higher percentage than individuals aged 25 to 35 with roughly 10% and 5% respectively. However, both groups witnessed some fluctuations over time and eventually reached similar levels with almost 30% at the end of the period.
