The bar chart illustrates the proportion of people who are self-employed in different 5 countries namely Russian republic, Slovakia, Czech republic, Greece and Turkey between 1998 and 2008.
Overall, it is immediately obivious that all examined countries embarked on a upward trend,leaving aside Greece and Turkey, whose proportions declined. It is also apparent that albeit with a significant fall, Turkey topped the chart throughout with the highest presentative.
Regarding Turkey and Greece, the former stood at approximately 55%, 13% higher than that of the latter in 1998. After 10 years, Turkey logged a dramatic decrease to around 40%, parelled with the fall to approximately 35% of self-employed workers.
1998, in terms of Czech republic, Slovakia and Russian republic, all of them were approximately 11%, 8% and 5% respectively. 10 years later, the percentage of Czech republic rose slightly to 15%. Witnessing a similar pattern, the proportions of workers who were self-employed in Slovakia and Russian republic registered an upward trend to about 12% and 8% respectively.
