In 1993, approximately 35% of UK residents took package holidays to North America. In comparison, Europe and all other destinations had higher proportions, at 55% and 56%, respectively. The proportion of visitors to all other destinations (excluding Europe and North America) increased slightly from 56% to 61% between 1993 and 2007.Similarly, Europe received 55% of visitors in 1993, but this proportion gradually decreased to 52% in 1997. However, after a slight increase in the proportion of travelers to Europe in 1999, it saw a significant decrease to 40% by 2007.
Visitors from the UK to North America experienced significant fluctuations. These figures were 35% at the beginning of the period and dropped to 32% by 2007. The proportion of UK package holiday travelers to all other countries remained relatively stable, at 56% and 57% throughout the period.
