The line graph illustrates the percentage of the population aged 65 years old and over in three different countries such as USA, Sweden, and Japan from 1940 to 2040.
Overall, initial, Japanese aged 65 year and over was the least proportion between the three countries, but it was the highest in the last period. In constant, USA was the top rate in beginning and it was the lowest in the end.
According to the figures, it is clear that Japan’s population aged 65 years and over experienced the most significant trend. It was at a mere 5% in 1940 and it dropped slightly about 2% until 2008. From then on, however, it increasing dramatically from 10 to 25 then around 27% in 2030,2035 and 2040 respectively.
By contrast, the number of aged 65 years and over of USA was by far the highest in beginning the period and increased slowly from under 10% in 1940 to 15% in 1980. This population rising to a peak at about 23% in the year 2040. The proportion of 65 aged and over Sweden people fluctuated before reaching a maximum of 25% in 2040. It increasing about 16%-18% throughout the time period.
