It can be seen that all figure for elderly people in three nations experience an upswing during a hundred period. In addition, at the beginning of the period, only a fraction of Japan’s populations who were aged 65 and over.
In 1940, around 9% of elderly people in USA and 7% for Sweden, compared to the figure in Japan which stood at below 5%. During two decades, there was a significant increase in the elderly population of USA and Sweden, contributing to 10% and 9% respectively. Meanwhile, in Japan the elderly population showed a complete reversal in trends that was considerable decreased to 3%. In 1960, both of USA and Sweden’s elderly people rise significantly higher than 14%, while Japan remained at 3%.
Compared to figures in 1980, the proportion of elderly population in USA fell to 14% and stood before it predicted that the figure will increased and reach 23% in 2040. Likewise, in Sweden became the higher trend which contributes at 20% in 2010 but dropped to 17% in next decades, then it is estimated to soar and reached 25% in two decades later. Conversely, the figure of Japanese who aged 65 and over showed a substantial increase, beginning at 5% in around 2008 and it is calculated to rise and contributed the highest rate at 27% in 2040.
