The graph illustrate the percentage of population aged 65 and over in three different countries japan, swedan and usa from 1940 to 2040.

Overall, all these three nations exhibit the general upward trend in their elderly populations, but the timing and magnitude differ slightly. Japan has to face the most dramatic surge in trend, while Swedan and USA has a steadily but gradual upward direction.

Initially, usa and sweden has the highest altitude in the graph. In 1940, usa starting from almost 9% and raise upto 15% and sweden surge from 7% to 14% both reached in 1980. Although japan started from 5% but face a decline almost 2% but after a drop it stable from 1960 to 1990 and then passed 10% growth before 2030.

Projection from 1980 to 1999 reveal a little drop of usa and sweden but in 2000 sweden took a very sharp growth 20% reached in 2010 but usa remained same till 2020. Japan will soared his population maximum 27% in 2040. While, sweden will increase about 25% and also usa maintain a gentle growth almost 24% in 2040.
