The given line graph is a figure revealing how much goods are transported by four various types of transport including road, water, rail, and pipeline from 1974 to 2002.
Overall, while transportation by road is significantly higher than others, goods moved by pipeline had the lowest amount over the 6-year period.
As the graph shows, the number of commodities exported by road started at about 70 million tonnes, hit a peak and returned to the initial level just before 1982. Then, it experienced a slight increase, fluctuated and finally, in 2002, just under 100 million tonnes were transported. Despite the constant trend in the first 4 years seen on the road, transporting by water witnessed a considerable rise in the mentioned period to approximately 60 million tonnes. Afterward, a staying steady, a slow decrease, and at the end a sharp growth to above 60 million tones has been seen respectively.
By contrast, rail transportation fluctuated and hit a low point in 1994 transporting around 30 million tonnes, before eventually rising to just above its initial level. Moving by pipelines had climbed moderately before just after 1994, then remained unchanged till 2002.
