The given line graph illustrates the goods of four different modest of transport: road, water, rail, pipeline from 1974 to 2002 in UK, measured with million tones.
Overall, throughout the period the most amount of goods were transported by road, while the least of them were transported by pipeline.
In terms of, in 1974 about 70 million tones used by road, however this proportion fluctuated over the time and in 2002 reached approximately 100 million tones. Furthemore, transportation by water increased steadily and initially showed a largest share from 40 million to 60 million. Whereas, there were used 65 million tones by the end of the period in 2002.
Eventually, in 1974 the number of goods by rail dwingled gradually from 40 million tones to 30 million tones and accounted a general decline, however in 2002 it reached to similar level to just over 40 million tones. By the contrast, the quantities of goods by pipeline went up from about 10 million to 25 million at the outsed, but in 2002 it maintained a steady tragectory to 20 million tones.
