The line graph compares the sales of three different kinds of books over a six-year period, from 2002 to 2006.
Overall, the three kinds of books experienced different sales in the period. While the sales of children’s and educational books showed an upward trend, adult books declined over time.
As the graph shows, the children’s book sales figure stood at around 31 million dollars in 2002, followed by an increase to approximately 41 million dollars in 2003. Then the figure rose to almost 48 million dollars in 2005, before the sales gradually climbed to 58 million dollars. Meanwhile, in 1985, educational books shipped about 24 million dollars of sales, then it fluctuated to nearly 31 million dollars.
In contrast, adult fiction experienced a decline in the five-year period. In 2002, nearly 45 million dollars were sold, but this number fell to just around 37 million dollars. Afterward, the figure moved to 40 million dollars; later, it declined steadily until it fell to 30 million dollars in 2006.
