The bar graph illustrates the percentage of student engagement in soccer, cricket, and basketball in grade VIII, IX and X of a particular school.

Cricket, without doubt, is the most preferred sport in the school regardless of the class to which the student belongs to. Football and basketball, on the other hand, have similar participation across the grades.

Amongst the students studying in the higher grade like 10th standard even though cricket has dominance with 40% students playing the sport, soccer and basketball each have 32% and 28% respectively. There is a clear indication of the falling preference for the cricket as the students are progressing to a higher grade as from 55% in class VIII and 45% in class IX falling down to 40% in class X. Soccer and basketball have an upward trend right from class VIII onwards till class X as more and more students are playing the sport. Only 20% students played basketball in class VIII which significantly increased to 28% by class X similar progress can be seen for soccer as it has increased from 25% to 32%.
