The graph illustrates the unemployment rate for males and females in five countries in the year 2000.
It is clear that the unemployment rate in Morocco was the highest of the five countries, while the figure for the Netherlands was the lowest.
On the one hand, in Morocco, 22% of people were unemployed for both sexes, followed by 12.7% in Belize. In both countries, the percentage of females who did not have a job were significantly higher than that of males. In Morocco, the figures were 27.6 and 20.3 and in Belize were 20.3 and 8.9, respectively.
On the other hand, in Australia, Japan and the Netherlands, the unemployment rates were considerably lower. The Netherlands had the lowest percentage of unemployment, only 3.3%. The number of females who did not have a job was doubled than those of males, with 4.2% compared to 2.6%. By contrast, in Australia and Japan, the unemployment rate for men was 2% and 4% higher than that of women. Only 6.5% of the population in Australia and 4.7% in Japan did not have a job on average.
