In the US, the percentage of people not having jobs was the highest in March 1993 (7%). From 1993 to 1995, a steep fall is observed (5.4%), followed by an infinitesimal rise in 1996 which is subsequently followed by consistent fall.
Japan witnessed an almost linear rise till 1996 (3.5%) after which it became stagnant till 1998 (3.5%) which was succeeded by a steep rise.
The highest rate or absence of jobs was 7.1% witnessed by the US in March 1993, and 4.6% in case of Japan, in the March of 1999. The unemployment rate for both the countries is same at almost 4.4% after March 1998 and line graphs intersect each other.
