The graph illustrates the trends of the US and Japan unemployment percentages, which limits were between 2% and 7.5%, starting form March 1993 to the same month in 1999. Overall, the US share excperienced a fall over the period, while Japan’s endured a considerable rise.
In March 1993, the US rate was much higher than the Japanese one at 7% unemployment of work force. However, the percentages continued to remarkebly fall in the years after. It hit 5.5% in 1995 as well as in 1996. On the other hand, Japan percentage demonstrated the opposite fashion and reached about 4.5% in 1996.
In the upcoming years, the figures started to get closer to each other. As a result, they both leveled in March 1998 at about 5.2% after a relative rise in Japan’s numbers and a slight decline in the US’s numbers. Finally, they remained almost in the same range untill March 1999.
