The pie charts illustrate the percentages of television programmes watched by three different age groups: 10-15, 16-20 and 21-25 years old.
Overall, there were clear differences in television preferences among the three age groups. Younger viewers tended to prefer cartoons and sports, whereas older people were more interested in news. Drama was particularly popular among those aged 16-20.
Among 10-15-year-olds, cartoons and sports were equally the most popular programmes, accounting for 26% each. Drama was also relatively popular, at 23%, while films made up 19% of viewing preferences. News was by far the least popular category, at only 6%.
For the 16-20 age group, drama was the most watched type of programme, at 30%. Films accounted for 23%, followed by news at 18%. Cartoons and sports were considerably less popular, representing 15% and 14% respectively.
The oldest group showed a different pattern. News was the most popular category, at 33%, while films and drama accounted for 21% and 22%. Cartoons represented 20% of viewing, whereas sports were by far the least popular, at just 4%.
