The graph illustrates the viewership among three different age groups from TV programs.
Overall, there is a noticeable change in entertainment preferences as people get older the interest shifting from sport towards news and drama. While sport is becoming increasingly unpopular news show the opposite trend.
Looking at the younger groups aged from 10 to 20 years old the preferences for sport and cartoons were the same, at 26%. However, the viewership among 16-20 year the figures fell by 11 and 12 percentage respectively to 14% and 15%. By contrast, drama became more popular, rising from 23% to 30%, making it the most preferred type of entertainment among this age group. Similarly, the proportion for film increased slightly from 19% to 23%, while news experienced a considerable rise from just 6% to 18%.
Turning to the oldest age group, 21-25 year news had the most preferred category accounting for 33%, whereas sport was the least popular show which is only 4% of preferences. The preferences for drama decreased considerably from 30% to 22 % compared with younger age group 16-20 year. Similarly, the figures of preferences for cartoons followed almost similar trend with increase by 5% of viewership. Moreover the preferences for film decreased slightly from 23% to 21%.
