The line graph compares acid rain emissions in four sectors that they produced over the 17 years from 1990 to 2007 in the United Kingdom.
Overall, the total amount of acid rain emissions in the UK fell considerably over the period . The most noticeable decrease experienced by Electricity, Gas and Water supply .
In details, Electricity, Gas and Water supply had the greatest participation rate , just about 3.3 million tonnes in 1990, closely followed by approximately 2.2 million tonnes acid rain emissions by other industries at the same time . In 1996, the share of Electricity, Gas and Water supply and other industries in acid rain emissions experienced a sharp decrease and accounted for about 1.6 million tonnes. Over the next decade the figures followed the same pattern, declining 0.5 and 1.2 million tonnes respectively.
In 1990, Transport & Communication and Domestic were the two sectors that provided the least acid rain emissions in the UK, then they experienced a period of instability from 1991 and 2001. While the amount of acid rain emissions in Transport & Communication sector went up dramatically to 1 million tonnes in 2005, the quantity of domestic sector plummed to 0.2 million tonnes at the same time.
