The line graph illustrates the UK air pollutants in million of tonnes from 3 different sources, such as industry, transport, and households, from 1990 to 2005.
Overall, it can be seen that all sources experienced a decline, except transport over the period.
In 1900, the total stood at 8 million and represented a gradual decrease without any fluctuation. From 1993 to 2005, the total went down gradually. First, the industry started with 6 million tonnes in 1900, and went down by 1 million over the next 93 years. In 1996, the industry showed a 1 million, but in 1999, the industry witnessed an insignificant decline. The next 3 years, it dropped rapidly to 2 million, and continued to fall.
Meanwhile, the transport and household sector started the period at a million; firstly, the household sector leveled off for 100 years, and was at 1 million. Secondly, the transport increased to 1,5 million in 1993, after 3 years witnessed a decline and fell to 1 million. However, in 1999, it went up insignificantly by 1,2 million. In 2002, it rocketed and kept those over the next 3 years.
