The two pie charts compare average world GDP in six different regions of the world in 2040 and 2060.
Overall, services and manufacturing are expected to remain the dominant sectors in both years, while other sectors such as agriculture, materials, energy, and information-communication technology are predicted to contribute much smaller proportions.
In 2040, services account for the largest share of world GDP at 40%, followed by manufacturing at 31%. Materials and agriculture make up 15% and 7%, respectively. Energy contributes 4%, while information-communication technology (Info-Com Tech) represents only 3%.
By 2060, the share of services is projected to increase slightly to 41%, while manufacturing also rises marginally to 33%. Materials are predicted to decline slightly to 16%, and agriculture will decrease sharply to 5%. Energy and Info-Com Tech are expected to remain small components, at 4% and 1% respectively.
In summary, services and manufacturing will continue to dominate global production in the coming decades, while traditional sectors like agriculture and energy will see a gradual decline.
