The line graph illustrates the proportion of employement in three different sectors of economy ( Public sector, private sector and self-employed) in the UK from 2000 to 2010.
Overall, one of the most noticeable trends is that public sector and self-employed showed a significant increase, whereas private sector experience a downward trend over the given period.
At the beginning of the period, private sector was the first employment rates among two sectors to more than 40% before dropping to 20% in 2009. In addition, it remained steady between 2009 and 2010.
In early 2000, public sector started about 35% and it remained in the same level until 2002. Moreover, it continued with gradual increased to just below 50% at the end of the period. Meanwhile, self-employed rose steadily less than 20% and it decreased to 17%. In addition, this figure grew slightly from 2005 to 2010 (19% and 28% respectively).
