The chart compares the percentage of female and male teachers in six different types of UK educational institutions in 2010.
Overall, according to the charts, female teachers were significantly more dominant in teaching in earlier grades, while the higher the level of education, the more male teachers dominated. However, the percentage of teachers of both genders was equal at the college level.
The overall details from the chart showed that the ratio of female teachers in pre-school and primary school was extremely higher than male teachers. The percentages of female teachers in pre-school and primary school were close to 100% compared to under 20% of male teachers and for Secondary school 55% of female teachers, compared to 45% of male teachers. However, the male teachers’ ratio was higher than female teachers in private training institute and at University. In private training institute, 55% of male teachers against 45% of female teachers while the gap at the university level was the highest around 70% of male teachers and 30% of female teachers. Lastly, it is noteworthy that the ratio of both genders in college was the same at 50%.
