The given bar chart illustrates the gender distribution of teachers among six different kinds of academic setting in the UK in the year of 2010.
Overall, female teachers have a significant presence in nursery/pre-school. In contrast, male teachers dominated secondary school, private training institute, and university. Moreover, men and women were equally represented in college.
Females made up a particularly large proportion of the teacher group in nursery/pre-school and primary school. The gender gap was particularly major in the setting of that, where there were nine times as many female teachers as male teachers. Furthermore, the number of female teachers also accounted for a remarkable rate in secondary school, but it was more stable than the others, for example, there were roughly 55% women.
Male and female were more equally represented in college. College lecturers, for example, 50% were female and 50% were male.
On the other hand, men predominated in the remaining schools. In private training institute, male teachers tended to make up a higher share, for example, the figure were well over 55%. Additionally, male lecturers were overwhelmingly dominant in universities in which men outnembered women (around 70% vs. 30%).
