The pie charts represent the proportion of energy usage of Australian household and greenhouse gas emissions from this energy use.
Overall, it can be seen that the highest energy consumption was for heating and the highest greenhouse gas emissions was from water heating.
Heating used the biggest portion of energy which was 42% while greenhouse gas emission from this source was only at 15%. Again water heating used 32% of the energy of household which was responsible for almost same proportion of greenhouse gas emissions.
The remaining portion of energy was used by cooling, lighting, other appliances and refrigeration .The amount of energy these factor used was almost doubled in terms of greenhouse gas emissions. Lighting and refrigeration used 4% and 8% of the energy respectively and greenhouse gas emission from these sectors were 8% and 14%.Energy used by cooling and other appliances were 2% and 15% while the were producing 3% and 28% of greenhouse gas in Australia.
