The table presents data on the annual earnings of three bakeries in Calgary over an eleven-year period, from 2000 to 2010.
Overall, Amandine Bakery experienced a remarkable increase in its revenue, more than doubling its earnings and becoming the highest earner by the end of the period. In contrast, Matt Bakeshop’s income declined substantially after an initial rise, while Bolo Cakery showed steady growth but remained the smallest earner throughout.
Looking first at Amandine Bakery, its annual earnings started at $55,000 in 2000 and remained unchanged at this figure until 2005. From 2006 onwards, however, its revenue rose sharply, increasing to $65,000 in 2007, then to $95,000 in 2008, and reaching a peak of $104,000 by 2010.
Regarding Matt Bakeshop, this bakery began with the highest earnings among the three at $82,000 in 2000. Its income continued to rise, peaking at $92,000 in 2001 and 2004. However, after 2004, its revenue experienced a significant decline, falling to $40,000 in 2008 and remaining at that level for the rest of the period. Meanwhile, Bolo Cakery, which started as the lowest earner at $22,000 in 2000, saw a consistent upward trend. Its earnings increased gradually to $38,000 by 2005, then to $64,000 in 2010, though it still ranked last among the three.
