In 1999 until 2002, the asylum population was having a significant increase, starting from around 45,000 to around 16,000. But since 2002, they seem to have experienced a drop, until it was found that in 2008 only around 20,000 people stayed in the United States.
People who came to the United States using work permits seem to have had an increasing trend since 1996 to 2008, although they also experienced a slight fluctuation in population in 2005 to 2008. Their population climbed from around 20,000 people in 1996 to around 15,000 people in 1993. Immigrants who had come as spouses were having a stable population in 1990 to 1999, and experienced a fluctuation in 1999 until 2008.
In conclusion, the immigrants who had come to United States in all category are having a fluctuate trends which each of category experienced a different trend.
