Overall, all of types of technology usage generally increased. During the period, the internet was the most commonly used technology while the use of smartphones was least.
In 2000, the internet was the most popular type of technology with 30% population using and internet usage increased to 90% of the population in 2015. Regarding to social medias, initially, just 2% of population used it in 2000, after that the percentage of social media users was seen a drammatically rise to 80% at the end of period. Similarly, there was a significant increase in the use of private broadband, from 19% to 69%.
On the orther hand, the rate of smartphone and tablet owner experienced wide growth between 2000 and 2015, to 79% and 45% respectively. By contrast, smartwatches were not common in UK in the period, with just 1% population using in 2000 and 5% in 2015.
