The graph illustrates the internet usage among four age groups of Taiwanese natives from 1998 to 2000. Overall, internet consumption slightly decreased over the years. However, the primary internet users were middle-aged individuals, while the proportion of internet usage among the elderly and children was nearly the same in 1999 and 2000.
Moving forward, the percentage of internet usage among individuals aged 16 to 30 declined by 8% in 1999, with a further drop of 1% in 2000. In contrast, the proportion of internet consumption among adults experienced a reduction of only 4% during the same period. Interestingly, the number of children using the internet in 1998 was half that of elderly residents, maintaining the same ratio in 1999 and achieving a difference of just 1% by 2000.
When comparing the three years, there was a significant increase in internet usage among children and the elderly, while there was a decrease of 9% in middle-aged users and 4% in adult users.
