The line graph compares the changes in average wages in US over the period 1970 to 2010, considering three different working fields: engineering, IT and professional sports. Overall, it is evident that the salary in professional sports remained far higher than the ones in the other spheres, throughout the whole period considered.
Firstly, with reference to the IT sphere, we can see that the average wage of workers increased considerably, passing from 35,000 to 100,000.
Also the average salaries in the engineering sphere had an increase in numbers, however, the rise was less impressive, with a smaller variation of just 15,000. The pattern described is reversed for the engineering sphere: in this area, even thought over the years there has been an erratic pattern, from 2000 to 2010 there has been an important decrease of 35,000.
Although the salaries for the employees in professional sports, had to manage a decrease, even if the other fields had a positive variation, the numbers in this sphere remained the highest.
