The line graph illustrates the revenue in billion US dollars generated prom tourisms in different regions, namely Africa, the Americas Asia and Pacific, Europe between 1960 and 2010.
Overall, all regions experienced an upward trend in income, with Asia and Pacific having a significant growth from 1990s onward. Moreover, Europe had the highest revenue throughout the years, while Africa earned the least.
It is clear that the revenue from tourisms in Europe was the highest over the period. Europe’s tourisms income started from less than $40 billion and increased steadily to more than $100 billion in 1980. The number then rose rapidly to over $200 billion by 1990 and reached a peak at around $2450 billion by 2010.The Americas initiated at under $20 billion and rose gradually but consistently to $150 billion in 2000, before having a slight decrease by 2005. The amount of revenue climbed up again,ending at approximately $150 billion.
Asia and Pacific experienced a moderate increase over the 50-year period,starting from almost negligible levels in 1960.The number then rose slightly to around $ 10 billion in 1985 and then surged to exceed $ 300 billion by 2010, surpassing the Americas. On the other hand, Africa was the least successful continent among other areas, indicating the limited growth with the amount of money staying below $50 billion throughout the years.
