The given graph illustrates how many people play 4 different types of sports, namely Basketball, Tennis, Badminton, and Rugby, over a 2-decade period.
Overall, the number of badminton and basketball players remained stable throughout the surveyed years. While the prevalence of rugby declined incredibly over time, tennis witnessed an opposite trend.
Regarding the two less common sports in 1985, it can be seen that just over 50 people took up badminton, while this figure for basketball was slightly higher, with roughly 80 people. Over the next 10 years, both of these sports experienced a moderate decrease and a subsequent growth, with basketball and badminton reaching nearly 90 and 50 people, respectively. While the number of badminton players was flat towards 2005, basketball players fell slightly after the year 2000.
Looking at the remaining sports, rugby was the most popular sport in 1985, with nearly 250 participants, followed by 150 tennis players. In 1995, rugby and tennis both recorded 200 players; the tendency was that the number of people engaging in rugby invariably plummeted in the next decade, whereas tennis players consistently rose, reaching approximately 220 by 2005.
